SanDisk 64GB iSSD Spotted at CES 2011: World’s Smallest SSD

We checked in with SanDisk at CES and were lucky enough to get a first hand look at their new micro SSD technology called iSSD at their Pepcom booth. As you can see from the photo, this device is really, really small and holds 64GB of data! The actual dimensions are 16mm x 20mm x 1.85mm and it is approximately 1/16th the weight of a standard 1.8″ hard drive. Also it uses, a SATA interface which will allow for compatibility with a multitude of device. It’s not available yet for consumers to buy, but will be used in cutting edge tablets and ultra thin PCs moving forward. We can’t wait to get one!
